How Long?

she waited on the docks everyday
after her father had left on a big wooden ship
so very long ago.
She waited for years after to see
that black dot on the sunset

Until one day the ocean gave her a chance
to wait longer than she had ever imagined
a life of immortality
for the price of her legs and family

Her family and friends are long gone
and though she cannot remember why
she returns daily
waiting for something
that may never come





while searching through DA for some inspiration to go off of, i noticed that most pieces with mermaids in them had then waiting for or thinking about a young human prince. It is my beliefs that a family love is much stronger than infatuation or "forbidden love"...so i came up with this. Story is cheesy as HELL, but it was fun to make...i need to practice in photoshop more for sure.
